About Bheej
In the vibrant metropolis of Mumbai, there resided a visionary by the name of Arundhati. Her quest to forge a purposeful path commenced in the year 2019, marked by a deliberate choice to transform her existence for the greater good. Though she had dedicated a substantial portion of her life to a corporate career, an inner longing compelled her to seek something deeper, something that harmonized with her core values.
Arundhati's family had a long history in the leather accessories business, but she was determined to tread a different path, one that embraced sustainability. It all started with her quest to find alternative materials that could replace traditional leather. Little did she know that this search would lead her to a revelation that would become the cornerstone of her life's work.
As Arundhati delved deeper into her research, she uncovered a world of innovative and sustainable materials she had never seen before. This discovery was her turning point, the genesis of something extraordinary—Studio Beej. She realized that sustainability and style could not only coexist but thrive together.
In India, where conscious choices were scarce, Arundhati saw an enormous opportunity. While the rest of the world was already experimenting with cutting-edge materials, there were only a handful of Indian brands exploring this exciting realm. She knew she had to change that.
At Studio Beej, Arundhati and her team embarked on a mission to redefine fashion. They were driven by the belief that style should not come at the cost of the environment. Their product range included an array of accessories, from bags to wallets, belts to home and gift items, all meticulously handcrafted using premium plant-based materials.
What set Studio Beej apart was not just their vegan products but their commitment to sustainability and being entirely plastic-free. Arundhati's dedication to ethical sourcing was evident as the materials they used, such as cork, Pinatex (pineapple leather), and Desserto (cactus leather), were not only vegan but also sustainable.
Cork, a versatile and eco-friendly material, was sourced from Portugal, home to the world's largest cork forests. These forests were carefully managed to ensure the bark of cork oak trees was harvested responsibly every nine years, without harming the trees or the environment. Each piece of cork used by Studio Beej carried the Forest Stewardship Council's certification, a testament to its ethical sourcing.
Pinatex, on the other hand, was a by-product of the pineapple industry in the Philippines. Made from pineapple plant leaves, it was a natural, non-woven leather alternative. What made it even more remarkable was its water resistance, sustainability, and low environmental impact, with nearly 90 percent of it being biodegradable.
But Studio Beej's commitment to sustainability extended beyond just materials. The inner linings of their products were made from post-consumer recycled yarn, handwoven to perfection. Every aspect of their creations was a testament to their dedication to the environment.
Arundhati's dream was not just about creating beautiful and sustainable accessories. It was about fostering a community of like-minded individuals, a community that believed in mindful choices and conscious living. Studio Beej became a beacon of hope for those who wanted to make a meaningful shift in the world of fashion.
Arundhati's passion, creativity, and unwavering commitment to her beliefs had given birth to something extraordinary. Each day at Studio Beej was a new adventure, a chance to dream, create, and make a positive impact on the world. And as she looked out from her studio, she was reminded that her doggo and her daughter could always come to hang out with her, adding an extra layer of warmth to her fulfilling journey.
Studio Beej, born from a dreamer's heart, had set a new standard for fashion in India. It was a testament to the idea that sustainability and style could not only coexist but thrive, and it was an invitation to all to be a part of their extraordinary journey. Arundhati's story, the story of Studio Beej, had just begun, and they were excited to have the world join them on this remarkable adventure.
